From October 24-28, 2018, the Institute of Navigation (ION) held its annual ION GNSS+ event, the world’s largest technical meeting of GNSS technology, products, and services in Miami, FL, USA. The five-day conference and two-day exhibition are held every year for international organizations to exhibit and attend seminars and short courses taught by ION’s Satellite Division and Master Instructors known for their GNSS expertise and knowledge.
Along with professional speakers, ION GNSS+ attracts more than 1,000 attendees each year from over 45 different countries. Students and other registrants in the GNSS field are invited to speak on specialty topics and present their research in a conference setting. Hemisphere's GNSS software developer Shaohua Chen presented his award-winning thesis, written while attending the University of Calgary’s Geomatics program, on ‘A Modified Adaptive Square-root Cubature Kalman Filter for GNSS/INS Integration’. Other session topics offered throughout the event included ‘Status of GPS/Galileo/BDS/QZSS’, ‘Atmospheric Science and Space Applications’, ‘Precise Point Positioning and L-Band Services’, ‘High Precision GNSS Positioning’, and many others.
As the largest technical meeting in GNSS technology, ION GNSS+ is well regarded as the place for companies and organizations to exchange information on navigation and positioning systems as well as network and conduct business in the GNSS community.
Hemisphere and its parent company UniStrong, exhibited complimentary products ranging from GNSS RTK smart antennas and receivers, choke-ring antennas, UAV GNSS antennas, positioning and heading OEM boards for applications requiring high-precision positioning in precision agriculture, marine survey and navigation, construction and machine control, and GIS and mapping.
Hemisphere and UniStrong’s exhibition were well attended and highly successful throughout the ION GNSS+ event. We look forward to seeing you at ION GNSS+ 2019!
